A touch of Spring

Next week I am hosting a Spring Door Bucket workshop in my home for local ladies. How it works is they choose from a variety of containers from my Willow House line and then they come and we work together to fill it with flowers and filler and arrange it. They then go home with a beautiful container that they can hang on the front door or in their home.  I have been busy getting ready for that, buying flowers, and making samples etc. Wanted to share with you the "Sample" I have made up for the ladies to see.

Just a bit of "funny" for your day

The Fragrance of Home

This is a post that has been rolling around in my head for awhile now. It started when I did a post on face book about walking into your home and asking what it smells like. Does it smell like fried food? Garbage that needs to be taken out? Does it smell warm and inviting?  Do guests walk in and crinkle their noses or do they walk in and feel instantly at home and welcome. The sense of smell can do amazing things with our attitudes and perception of things. Our homes should be a place of refuge and comfort. So sure, smelling good is nice and I do take extra measures to make sure it smells great (candles, scentsy pots, plug ins etc, as well as making sure it is clean too) The aroma though is not just in the scent of our homes, it is in the attitude we put forth in our home. The aroma or fragrance of home goes so much deeper. It is the way we respond to others, our family members or guests. It is in the way they see us
It is the way that they can see Christ in us.

The fragrance of Christ...It is the "perfume" you wear. It is the aroma people notice when you walk into a room. How do we get it?

We must shed our old skin and put on new if we want to give off this scent, and we do that by spending time in the Word, in prayer, and in praise and worship. By deepening our relationship with God. The more we pursue Him, the more the He will anoint us and bless us and we will give off the fragrance of Christ.

When this happens, people will be drawn to us, not because of our beauty or our bubbly personalities, but because they can sense the presence of Jesus in our lives. They may not realize at first what is different about us, but God will use us to create His fragrance in our homes and in our lives.

So today think about the fragrance you are emitting in your home. What can you do to make a change to bring the lovely aroma to your homes that I know you  desire. The Lord bless you today

For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing" (2 Chron 2:15-15). As believers, we are to carry it wherever we go!

My Lucky Day

A few weeks ago, 2 of my favorite blogs The Reluctant Entertainer and The Nesting place had a giveaway for a Kitchen aid 13 cup food processor. Now, I must say, like most of you I enter the occasional give away and rarely win. But man I wanted this baby!  I have been using a tiny tiny one for years and every holiday season, when it goes double duty, I am so sure it is going to die. It is one of those appliances we want but never really can justify some how. Anyway long story short I was beyond excited when Sandy emailed me to tell me I had won!! Hi there
Just wanted to say welcome to friends of Carmella's over at Southern Fried Gal. I hope that you will stick around and browse my older posts for some great decorating and design ideas. Recently I have focused almost entirely on Willow House postings but I am working now to get a good balance of decorating and design Ideas as well as posting deals and Willow House specials. I really really hate for anyone to miss out on a good deal!! I will be throwing in an occasional recipe or personal post as well.
I learned of Willow House from Carmella and am honored to be taking over for her with all of you. Although no one can fill her shoes, I would love to be your new Willow House consultant. I love the product and love people, I believe customer service seems to be a dying thing in our world so I always strive to provide you with the very best in customer service I can. It is because of our hostesses and customers that Willow House even exists, so I will honor you and always be thankful for your business.
As I read Carmella's post today I read with tears in my eyes. I felt as if someone just trusted me with their new baby and am both sad and grateful for the honor.
