A few weeks ago, 2 of my favorite blogs The Reluctant Entertainer and The Nesting place had a giveaway for a Kitchen aid 13 cup food processor. Now, I must say, like most of you I enter the occasional give away and rarely win. But man I wanted this baby! I have been using a tiny tiny one for years and every holiday season, when it goes double duty, I am so sure it is going to die. It is one of those appliances we want but never really can justify some how. Anyway long story short I was beyond excited when Sandy emailed me to tell me I had won!! It arrived today and I just can't wait to put it to good use!! Thank you Sandy and Kitchen Aid You made my day!!!
Have a great weekend!
I am off to visit my sweet little grandson so playing with the kitchen aid will have to wait until next week

The Best French Bread
With the weather getting cooler and our menus are starting to be filled with soup recipes, I thought I would share one of my family's favorite bread recipes.
It is great with just about everything and really yummy broiled with lots of butter on day two (I didn't claim it to be diet food : ) It is also delicious slathered with roasted garlic too.
The Best French Bread
2 Tbls yeast
1/3 C hot water ( from Tap)
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp salt
Put this in mixer bowl and let sit until bubbly (about 10 min)
Then add:
2 Cups skim milk warmed but not hot (about 115 degrees)
5 Tbls sugar
2 Tbls olive oil
4 1/2 -5 Cups flour
Mix well and then slowly begin to add the flour
I use my Kitchen Aid with the dough hook and I never even have to knead this
When dough is smooth and elastic, turn out into a greased bowl and let rise for 1 hour.
punch down and separate into two loaves
place on greased cookie sheet and let rise for 30-40 minutes
Bake for 25 to 30 min at 375 degrees
Enjoy
