Are you feeling Blue?

Have you noticed it? Blue is making a comeback. It is everywhere in home decor. From vases to wall art, in fabrics to furniture, from paint to tile, from damask to denim
There are so many shades of blue out there, that even if "blue" is not your color, you might find one shade you could learn to like. The March issue of House Beautiful has some wonderful displays in blue. Even Pottery Barn is getting in on the blue action.
Thought I would share just a few of my favorite blue things with you.

  1. I'm really more of a "green" girl, but I am lovin' blue more and more. It is so striking... and timeless.

I like blue too, and these rooms are all very pretty. You have a nice blog, and I will enjoy following along.

  5. Hi...
I am one that loves every color of the rainbow! Show me a color and I will probably love it..so of course I do like blue a lot. I use it mainly as an accent color. A home without the color of the sky in it is isn't complete. Sort of like a home without a Grandfather clock or a piano. (I'm teasing!)
    You have a lovely home.

  7. Oh yes. I found an absolutely gorgeous comforter set at TJ Maxx today that is calling my name. That was not on my list at all and switching to blue would require some work. Hmmm..

My son is graduating from high school this year so I'm preparing the house for a party. That's an excuse I can use...right?

  9. Hi Debbie! First, welcome back! I enjoyed looking at your pictures of Nicaragua.

I have a blue spare room. I'd say guest room, but it is only 9x12. I have a blue in that room similar to the drapes in the second picture. I call it a "french blue" {kind of heather blue} and I've paired it with some yellow and blue toile in the fabrics. I love it as a very cool and calm room.

  10. Blue is my color!
I've been trying to get away from blue. Looks like I shouldn't try so hard.

  11. I like a lot of the blue inspiration I'm seeing out there (and here!). Your 4th image is my favorite in this post. That fabric is pretty too.

  13. Hey, we must have done our blue posts at about the same time. (I'm really not a blue person, but I do find I love it in certain shades and places). I didn't realize I wasn't a follower, sorry, Debbie.

  14. Debbie -- I happened upon your blog... your daughter is Kaitlyn (sp), correct? She's awesome with kids... has helped in Happy Hearts?
Your blog is fun, your decorating sense is inspiring.
    God bless!

  15. Yes, it is coming back. I use to have blue everywhere, then came the hunter green, then the golds. The turquoise started sneaking up on me, and then a bit more of the gray, now full-blown blue...

Sadly, I'm starting to like it. I say "sadly" because I no longer have any blue in my home. I am in the process of adding a bit of turquoise though.

    Love your pictures.
