Sunday Worship

Sharing with you today word from our worship pastor. Are we Grateful for all we have been blessed with?
Have you ever stopped to consider the emphasis in Scripture on gratefulness?  Even when you don’t read the actual word, the concept is there over and over again.  And I believe it is at the heart of worship - beginning with gratefulness that “while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom. 5:8)… that He rescued us from sin and death.  Here are a few other verses:

  • Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe (Heb. 12:28)
  • Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thess. 5:16-18)
  • …in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God… (Php. 4:6)
  • Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. (Ps. 95:2)
  • Enter His gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. (Ps. 100:4)
  • Give thanks to the LORD, call on His name; make known among the nations what he has done. (1 Chronicles 16:8)
  • I also assigned two large choirs to give thanks… The two choirs that gave thanks then took their places in the house of God… And on that day they offered great sacrifices, rejoicing because God had given them great joy.  The women and children also rejoiced.  The sound of rejoicing in Jerusalem could be heard far away. (Neh. 12:31, 40, 43)
Have a great Sunday !

  1. Sweet scriptures Debbie! Our Service was great this morning! I sit on that pew and remember all of the times I prayed that God would keep Justin safe and return him home to us without injury! What I have been doing since the prayers were answered is to Thank God as many times as I asked him to keep Justin safe. It is easy to call out and ask and ask and ask... but we MUST remember to be grateful and say THANKS!

Have a most blessed day my friend! HUGS!

  2. Debbie,
    Wonderful scriptures!
Today in church our Paster shared of a family she read about that felt they had so much to share and sold their home and gave all the profits to a charity organization. They moved to a much smaller home and found greater happiness as a family in learning to be grateful for what they have as a family (not focusing material items)! Even my kids heard every word she said today! Thanks for the reminder :)
