I wear them almost daily (maybe cuz I'm a messy cook). I have a dear friend who has been wanting a new one, yet she never buys herself one, so I had this bright idea to try my hand at making one, to give her as a gift. These things always sound better in theory. : ) Anyway it took me most of the day to get it made. The pattern lied...it said sew easy. I personally did not think it was all that easy but here's how it turned out.
The pattern did not call for that cute Ric Rack but I thought the apron was plain without it. Besides, I had this cute vintage extra large Ric Rack just waiting to be used. Here is a closer view
So glad to be done with it. It was an enjoyable day listening to Christmas music while I sewed.
I will be linking this to a few parties.
Oh and if you haven't had a chance to watch the Cute nativity video go here to see it
Ha! Not sew easy! Well, you can know that your friend will love it even more because you made it for her! I love the rick rack ~ I think it makes a nice touch to the bottom where the ruffle is.
ReplyDeletePerfect...my kind of apron...I love it. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet gift, made with your own hands and it is beautiful! Great job, Debbie! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking I need to make an apron. You did a great job, Debbie. (I wear aprons all of the time, too - I got tired of grease blotches on my shirts). Christmas blessings to you and your sweet family.

ReplyDeleteDebbie, what a cute apron! I love aprons too- my grandma sewed many for herself and I am blessed to have one of hers. You chose a really cute fabric to make yours out of! I received my Tuscan bowl yesterday and I blogged about it today :) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute. I have been wanting to make one with dish towels but have not yet. Nice job.
