It's My SITS Day

Today is my special day! Today - I am the featured blogger at The Sits Girls
I'm so blessed to be a featured blogger....
If this is your first visit to my blog Welcome to you!
Kick your shoes off, grab cup of coffee, take a peek around, and stay awhile. I a wife and mother to 4 daughters(1 set of twins),1 wonderful son-in-law,and Grandma to 1 cute 4 month old grandson Ezra
I am a decorator and home stager, who loves what she does. I have been in the home decorating and home furnishings industry for over 20 years. I love to meet with people and help them define their design style . I love to see the look on their faces when we have transformed their spaces into places they love!! I enjoy taking a tiered room or an old piece of furniture and making it new again. I recently did a makeover on our 1980's dresser and I love the result.
I think faith and family are important and spending time with them is a priority. We are a family who loves to laugh. And we laugh often!!
I started my blog orignanlly to promote my web store Lovethedecor.com. A site where you can find unique home decor items. Although I still do this at times, My blog has become more of a place to share decorating and design ideas. Information on products such as flooring info, paint color information, decorating trends, etc.
It has also become a place for sharing what's on my heart now and then, sharing a project or two, maybe a recipe now and then and a place where friendship is found in abundance.
Thank you for stopping in I hope you will choose to come for another visit.
Oh one more thing to thank you for visiting I am offering a
gift for you is a savings of 20% off your purchase at my webstore

  2. Happy SITS Day! I love your decorating! We just redid my daughter's room (turned it into a big-girl room). It took us forever to figure out the color scheme and bedding and drapes, etc. Anyway, we put her new room together this weekend, and it was pretty! But your decorating is gorgeous!

  5. There's something warm and soothing about a person who's a grandmother and a decorator. It's like a double dose of homeliness.

Visiting from SITS. I am going to spend some time here.

  6. Love the dresser makeover! I'm a big fan of spraypainting furniture to give it a new life...a friend gave me a very dated rocker to use in our nursery, and it's amazing what a difference a coat of spraypaint and some re-upholstered cushions made!

  38. Congratulations on your SITS day! You did a fabulous job with your intro post. I'm SO glad that you posted a link to your online store. Do you ship to Canada as well? Are the neighbours to the north included in your free shipping promo?

I absolutely LOVE looking through sites such as yours. My interior design skills are a little lack lustre and it's sites like this that help me to create something that doesn't scare away the visitors!

I'm not sure if you're ever interested in other revenue streams, but since it's what I do for a living, I thought I'd give you some of the initial thoughts that came to mind. The first thing is to do something along the lines of what YoungHouseLove does which is creating virtual designs for other people. They send in their pictures of the room they need assistance with and you design the room and provide them with colours, ideas for their current "stuff" and what things they may want to buy to add to the room. Ebooks are also really popular right now and with your background, you could easily write a beginners book on everything from the latest colours (how to match them to what you've got, how to add patterns to the room, etc) to how you help people find their own style. And lastly, helping people find their style could be a stand alone service that you provide virtually or in person.

Congrats again, and enjoy the wonders of your grandson!

  48. I noticed that your grandson is named Ezra. Our granddaughter, whom I always call "Our Little Princess" when I'm online, is also named Ezra. I know, a little different for a girl. I was less than thrilled when my daughter and son-in-law chose the name, but now I can't imagine any other name. She's 18 months old and just beginning to talk. She calls herself "Rah-Rah." I think it's a nickname that's going to stick.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Happy SITS Day! I'm looking forward to reading your "define your design style" as I have absolutlely no sense of style in my house or me even.

  57. So excited for you on your special day...wow, I love your stuff. I love to decorate and have fun with changing things around or building stuff. I even built myself a cabinet (wall hanging type) to hold all (well not all) my teapots out of an antique window.

I love that ottoman (black and white patchwork look) and well all your things.

Its just a small room, really. 1/2 bath is all. I tackled the living room with no trouble; in your shade of green I might add. But that darned 1/2 bath with its high ceilings but tiny sq. footage baffles my creative juices into a festering stew!
I shall scope out your site and store for ideas and possible take full abuse of the 20% offer!
Thanks and great site for a SITS day!

  71. Debbie! you are such an incredibly talented woman!!! You remind me so much of my mother in law whom I absolutely adore, both of you gifted with the eye for "balance" and thinking outside the box when it comes to decorating. I love to cook but when it comes to decorating, I panic! Like I was telling our SITStahs...I'm one of those people who would rather go have a spa day and come home to a decorated home and say "oh mah gahhhh! It's awesome!!!" ~ you are an inspiration sweet bella! I am delighted to become your newest follower, happy SITS day :)

    ReplyDelete
  76. Congrats on your SITS day! I will be poking around for ideas - I'm just finishing up turning my daughter's room into a big girl room and next is our master bedroom -- finally. I think I am creative, but only when I have time to relax and let my mind go. That just doesn't happen often. So I find myself intimidated by the idea of decorating. I'm good at picking the best of a few choices, but not figuring out what the few choices should be to begin with. Hope you are enjoying your big day!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Stopping by from SITS to say Happy SITS Day!! I loved looking at your blog. You have some very creative ideas and I look forward to seeing more. I am definitely going to follow you and hope some of your ambition and creativity rubs off on me =]!

  79. Happy SITS day....LOVE your ideas, and am so jealous! 1.) my kids often supercede my decor ideas with their clutter, and 2.) we don't have the cash to redecorate right now, though I want to very badly!

  119. Hi Debbie and happy SITS day!!! I hope you've had an awesome day. :) I see that you've just been camping. I returned yesterday from a camping trip that turned out to be in the RAIN with my 7-month-old. Needless to say we came home early. There's only so much you can do in a tent with a baby! *sigh* Looks like your trip was much more successful, despite the chipmunk invasion. ;) Your blog and designs are beautiful and I love that you love to help people find their unique style. I think having a lovely home is so important to quality of life, and yet no doubt it doesn't have to cost a fortune! Good for you for helping people to learn that and discover how to decorate within their means. :D

    ReplyDelete
  120. Debbie, what a beautiful blog! And what a beautifully gifted woman you are! My creativity finds its outlet in writing and music; the decor in my house is pitiable! I admire women with your talents and the drive to improve on them. I hope you enjoyed your SITS day; I'm a little behind on the shout-outs.
